As always, the 2005 is a ruggedly constructed, tough, tannic effort revealing attractive, earthy, black currant fruit intermixed with notions of herbs and new oak. A steely, slightly austere, medium-bodied, concentrated, firmly structured Margaux, it will require 3-4 years of bottle age. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2018. Parker N° 164, 87-89/100
